His whole life he felt a deep passion for the art of drawing, in spite of that he chose in his younger days to become a truckdriver.
After a period of work with lots of ups and downs, followed by a period of rest and orientation, Paul allowed himself to follow his hart. In 1996 he painted his first mural. This was his first experience in working with brushes and paint.
Very unaware of his painting capabilities he suddenly found himself in Hamburg Germany painting a mural, sized 8.50 m x 3.70 m. It turned out to be a success, so he kept on painting and after a while he started his own company
After
travelling around for some time, and leaving his murals in several parts
of the world, Paul started making his own work. In the beginning of the
year 2002 he felt inspired to put his own drawings on canvas.
His paintings, which he calls abstract/figurative are renewing, clear
and full of humour. Paul is inspired by life, demonstrated with humour
and transparency.
Behind every painting there is of course a personal story, but he inspires
others to find their own story in his work. Apart from that the paintings
serve greatly as decoration with their bright colours and humorous pictures!
In April 2002 he went to the Italian Island Sardinia for a period of nine months. At this beautiful Island he worked very hard and made many paintings in which his personal growth shows. To the delight of lots of people he also started exposing his paintings. In January 2003 he went back to the eastern part of the Netherlands, where he is living and working as a professional artist.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Paul’s paintings are titled. He makes all the frames; he works with
acrylic paint on canvas, covered with a protecting coat. Because of environmental
aspects he has chosen to work with water based paint only. By making his
own frames he has the freedom of choosing the size he prefers. This whole
process is resulting in beautiful work, full of his positive energy.
